Having a chef onboard is the ideal way to get the most out of your sailing experience. No need to spend time during your island-hopping on mundane tasks such as meal planning, cooking, and doing the dishes. The cost to hire a chef for a week ranges between €1400 - €1995 in the Mediterranean and you need to reserve a cabin with a bathroom for him. In addition to the fee above, you will need to provide food for the duration of the trip and a customary 15-25% gratuity at the end. It may seem expensive, but usually, a charter includes a large group of people (usually 6-10). If you split the costs among 8 people, you would only pay €200 - €250 per person per week plus the tip.
